November 5-6, 2021 CNO2 Lecture

November 5, 2021 @ 8:00 am - November 6, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

How does a dental practitioner objectively vet the TMJs prior to the implementation of occlusal manipulation of any and all kinds including cosmetic, orthodontic, restorative, implant related, etc.?  Join Dr. Nick Yiannios and Engineer/BioPak inventor Mr. John Radke as these two published experts outline Neural Occlusion Diagnostic Screening (NOS), an objective and digital protocol designed to accomplish just that.  Remember, the orthopedic TMJs are 2/3 of the occlusion, and the orthopedics, muscle activity and the kinesiology of the mandible are all part of that elusive occlusal equation.  Advanced didactic and practical implementation of various electromyography (EMG) protocols, Digital Mastication Analysis, Jaw Tracking (EGN), Heart Rate Variability (HRV) autonomic nervous system analysis, and an introduction to TMJ MRI and CBCT imaging are all presented in this course.  Attendees will be well prepared for the final piece of the Neural Occlusion Screening protocol after completing this course; CNO3. CNO3 proffers the intricacies behind ordering, interpreting, and implementing the usage of TMJ MRI & CBCT imaging in dentistry, and the profound impact that joint based occlusion has upon everyday dental practice. An essential part of the must-attend CNO curriculum, designed for both general practitioners and specialists alike. CNO2 was created for any and all practitioners interested in objective and reproducible occlusal metrics based upon sound and validated science.  Remember, “Measured Matters”!

EMG topics:  Resting, Learreta, Clench, Swallow, Mastication Analysis (when combined with Jaw Tracker).

Jaw Tracker/EGN topics: Velocity tracings, Mastication Analysis (when combined with EMG), and how to use EGN and Joint Vibration Analysis (JVA) in concert.

HRV/Heart Rate Variability topics: quantifying autonomic inputs, including the sympathetic inputs which are highly relevant for chronic orofacial pain and dysfunction.
