For most of my career in dentistry, I have been searching for answers to my clinical questions using evidence based dentistry not just opinions and dogma that guide treatment. I was always taught that you need to gather data, diagnose and then treat. Not treat and see what happens. Unfortunately, that is all too common, not only in dentistry, but in healthcare in general. It is very disappointing and we should be better than that! With CNO I have found a solid guide to the gathering of valuable diagnostic information that I have not found in other groups. I like how progressive we all are as members of the CNO network and how we think outside the box; not only going by clinical experience, but using data as an objective guide to diagnosis without bias. That is what I find so valuable in this organization.
